Keeping your composure under pressure is the hallmark of every great leader. Based on his latest book by the same title, Dr. McKenna highlights the power of composure under pressure. Discover the specific strategies you can use to be a better version of yourself when it matters most. This session offers a roadmap for standing firmly in who you are while staying connected to those who matter most to you–especially during high-pressure moments. It doesn’t matter whether you are a CEO, parent, manager, or student–none of us are immune to the possibility of losing our composure when the pressure is on. This workshop consists of highly interactive content delivered through group discussions, peer coaching conversations, class debriefs, open space formats, and so on. The trainers integrate assessment tools to kick off deep and meaningful conversations and then introduce a simple coaching model, The Process of Thoughtful Action, that you can use to focus the coaching conversations and debrief sessions.

    Outcomes:

    • Increase your capacity to recognize high-pressure moments when they come and your tendencies and habits in those moments.
    • Recognize your greatest strengths under pressure and the strategies that will help you become better leaders in those moments, for their sake and for the sake of others around them.
    • Improve your ability to build high performing and adaptive teams when pressure and adversity are at their highest.
    • A roadmap for creating healthy relational cultures and organizational systems where meaningful feedback is enhanced and blame is minimized.

Attendees will apply See-Feel-Change to a real opportunity, problem or solution they need others to be a part of.

Topic: Surviving and Improving Change in Disruption

    Presenter: Dr. Mathew (Mat) Donald

    Skill: Masterclass. Register.

Description: Recent organizational change research indicates that multiple change factors interact during change and affect the results of change in a positive and negative ways. The result is that change managers need a broad change plan to improve results and avoid potential resistance or pitfalls. The globalized world aides the interconnectivity of change through the internet, social media, and email to name a few. Change is now fast moving, uncertain with great risk due to the interconnectivity and unpredictable nature of so many world pressures like Brexit and trade wars, yet there are so many potential future disruptions ahead that may increase this speed further. The audience will gain an appreciation of how different this disruptive world is and how change managers will be required to change many of their past practices based on the recent research and this new environment.

The online event is the second in the series. Participants who have not attended the first session are welcome - there are no prerequisites.

As a follow up to our COVID 19 response event in April, we’re going to reconvene! We’ll share the results of this first session and delve into even more important topics.

Our initial session revealed the challenges of maintaining rapport in a virtual environment and the need to respond to the profound changes impacting our teams and companies.

Our ACMP PNW chapter is inviting our members to come together in collaborative session(s) to rapidly develop an action-oriented approach to address this evolving situation. Our focus is to help us create, as a community, tangible, actionable things we can say and do with our leaders. We believe that we are better together and that with our combined knowledge and experience in the art and science of change management, we can craft a meaningful go-forward strategy for us all.

Let’s gather in a facilitated co-creation session to:

    • Develop our skills to lead change in a virtual environment effectively
    • Build rapport even at a distance to gain the trust we need for our work
    • Collaborate on our approach to being a coach, even when we don’t have this title

    Outcomes:

    1. Attendees will participate in a facilitated session to collaboratively asses the current situation and design an approach to practically address challenges our profession is facing
    2. Attendees will participate in co-creating a guidance document which will summarize the results of our working session(s)
    3. Attendees will participate in an all teach, all learn style session, contributing ideas and information to form a body of knowledge that we’ll share to our chapter membership

Offering our Certification virtually keeps the momentum going for individual’s change projects by providing training opportunities during this stand-still time.

Prosci has been providing bi-weekly, thought-provoking live interactive webinars for over a decade, as well as VILT to select customers for several years. Providing a world-class experience is one of our core values and this will come to life as we scale our VILT delivery.

We are employing best practices in the VILT space leveraging our instructors with deep experience in leading both virtual and face-to-face training. These best practices include:

    • To keep participants engaged and focused we will use a suite of virtual engagement tools to include video feeds, virtual brainstorm groups, recorded project presentations, and interactive polling software to capture a variety of inputs in real-time (e.g., assessment scores, brainstorm inputs and planned next actions)
    • We will intentionally track individual engagement and “randomly” call on individuals throughout the program
    • We are keeping the Certification program to a maximum of six hours of synchronous learning per day. The rest of the hours will be done through pre-work, post-work and individual assignments during the 3-day period.
    • All Prosci instructors have gone through a boot camp on the new technology and activities ensuring that we’re all driving to common outcomes
    • We have the ability to use several industry-leading delivery platforms for virtual training. Our primary platforms will be Zoom, Poll Everywhere and the Prosci Portal.

What You Need to Succeed as a Virtual Learner:

    • Uninterrupted time to focus, just like if you were in the classroom
    • A computer or laptop with high-speed internet connection and webcam capable of showing you by video
    • A functional headset or audio connection that has a speaker and microphone
