Topic: Three Reasons Why Training Fails at Change Management

In today’s chaotic world, success – or even survival – depends on a company’s ability to seize opportunities and respond to threats. Every new situation presents a tight window of time to act.

Training organizations should be vital contributors to these efforts, but instead are often out of the loop and the last to know about upcoming changes. Even worse, studies show that 80% of training activities do NOT accelerate the understanding of new ideas and practices!

How well aligned is your L&D organization with changes at your company? Are they leading the charge, barely keeping up or woefully behind? How effective are they at getting employees at all levels to adopt new thinking and behaviors?

Tune in and learn about the three key assumptions and practices that cause L&D organizations to flounder. You’ll also hear how they can re-orient their priorities and methods to help drive successful change.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Todd Hudson is a knowledge management expert and long-time Lean practitioner with decades of operations experience at US, European and Asian electronics companies.

As a Manufacturing Manager and Director of Operations, he was endlessly frustrated with the failure of traditional training and knowledge management to deliver measurable results. Seeking a better solution, he applied Lean to both areas with incredible success.

His methods proved so powerful, he founded the Maverick Institute to bring them to a wider range of organizations, producing compelling and significant outcomes for Honda, Microsoft and even St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Most recently, the artificial intelligence revolution is adding an exciting new technology dimension to his research and projects.

Todd holds a BA in Chinese from Connecticut College, an MS in Engineering from UMass - Amherst, and a certificate from Stanford University’s Executive Program in Strategy and Organization. He enjoys kayaking, cooking, gardening, and road tripping to rock concerts.
