All are welcome to our 2nd Friday of the month Coffee Chats!

Our presenter this month is Sue Shinomiya, Principal Consultant at Global Business Passport.

Topic: The Transition we are experiencing – Could it be Culture Shock?

Interculturalist Sue Shinomiya will discuss her work of bridging across cultural differences, preparing people for international assignments corporate cross-cultural integration, and leading global virtual teams, and how resistance - or openness - to change and risk-taking might be rooted not just in personal preferences, or corporate culture, but also inherent to the culture we grew up in.

Sue's coffee hour will include, but not limited to:

  • Culture Shock 2021: What is culture and why it matters even more in our ever-changing world of 2021?
  • Am I secretly adverse to change and risk? How one’s culture influences risk and change acceptance.
  • Have you been blindsided by culture? How understanding cultural dimensions can help
  • Awareness vs Acceptance vs. Integration and Inclusiveness – getting at the cultural component of these terms to put them into action
